Ever since I was a child I loved reading!! I was the kind of kid who would spend hours and hours reading until I finished a book in one sitting. My eyes would be burning with sleep but I would not put the book done until I was done!!

All those years of reading gave me what I thought was an expansive vocabulary, but then eventually I fell off and reading got lost somewhere in the shuffle.

Either way, in my recent reading I discovered that people choose a word to define some premise that they want the new year, season or wherever they are in their lives to be defined on.

I fell in love with the idea and figured out this could be something that I did too! So naturally I thought about everything that I wanted to accomplish and the personal words that I wanted it all to be marked by! After narrowing them all down, I decided on TRUST!

Why trust you may think? Well, according to the Oxford dictionary, trust is defined as:

1. to have confidence in somebody; to believe that somebody is good, sincere, honest, etc. and;

2. to believe that something is true or correct or that you can rely on it.

For me this was a big one because I often like to be in control of everything around me. I want to know how things will work out and if not, what’s next! But in actuality, life doesn’t always work out this way.

There’s a famous quote by Steve Jobs that says, ‘You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.’
