Your Mind Really Does Matter

So naturally there’s a stigma associated with seeking therapy for mental health issues no matter how significant they can be. But the reality is we only have one mind and doesn’t it deserve to operate from a place of peak efficiency, even if it means that we have to get a little help with staying on track to achieve that efficiency?

I personally used to think it was whack (for lack of a better word) to go to therapy and I’m sure it was simply because of all the societal reasons…

Ie. No one really does that…

You just need to take a break…

Stop being soft and suck it up…

Talk to a friend…

You don’t want to have anyone in your business…

It’s easy to push things under the rug…

And the list goes on and on.

To be honest, postpartum can feel like forever, but you don’t have to do it alone.

I think about how much stress and anxiety I had and in some instances still have even though I’m more than a year out. Being depressed and not even realizing it… it’s literally crazy!

But, we have to be courageous and confident enough to seek the help that we need knowing that over time it will get better. Nothing is automatic but time brings on improvements once we’re consistent.

I did it and it wasn’t nearly as bad or actually bad at all the way I thought it would be; so know that you can too and it’s ok if you do!
