So can I just say how shocked I was when I took my toddler to the dentist today.

Honestly, I was surprised by her behavior.

I was taken aback.

It caught me off guard to say the least.

Of all the things that she could be… she was actually cooperative with the dentist!!

I expected a few theatrics, some disagreement and a little fighting to protest the foreign objects (well besides the toothbrush) that she had to have in her mouth! But nope… she was well behaved and mannerly! THE WHOLE TIME.

I have to say ahead of the appointment I tried to do some prep work… ie… we watched a view videos on YouTube showing positive dentist office experiences and sang some songs about going to the dentist. I believe it put both of us into a positive mindset and that was just what we needed to conquer the day!

A lot of times as parents, I know any type of doctors visits can cause us grief because we just don’t know how our little ones will act on the day. I have been a victim of this several times at the pediatrician’s office and I’m hoping that by the time we get to the 3 year visit I’ll be having this similar experience like we did at the dentist!!
