Dear You…

Dear you,

I lay down in bed thinking about how as kids, most, if not all of us have an innate nature to be competitive in most aspects of life. To the point that we live our lives based on comparison and the opinions of others.

While there’s nothing wrong with being competitive, I wonder if we’ve approached the method incorrectly by using others as our benchmark.

I wonder if the true competition should really be with ourselves; striving to constantly and consistently be the best versions of who we’re meant to be. Who we’re called to be.

Realistically, we are constantly evolving and changing (whether in a negative or positive way) irregardless of our thoughts… but is the end game to be the best of someone else or yourself?

Competition is good. But remember, whether in a year or five from now; you’ll look back with a smile and realize that by competing with yourself, you’ve taken yourself to unimaginable levels!

Love,

Yourself
